Search/Retrieve via URL — Library of Congress's HTTP-based modernization of Z39.50. Queries are CQL (Contextual Query Language), responses are XML; the companion CQL specification gives a sensible grammar where Z39.50's RPN was painful. Most library systems support SRU alongside legacy Z39.50.
